You can tell the Summer is slowly fizzling out because there’s been less festival talk on Facebook. Also, Bakeoff has started up again (it wouldn’t be Autumn without the unnecessary dislike of young pretentious bakers and an unhealthy obsession with Sue Perkins). In these modern times you don’t even need to look outside to tell the changing of the seasons.

With these exciting television developments comes AW, and all the bank-breaking emails from brands telling you about fabulous new products. They get me every single time. For your pleasure, I now present to you my pick of AW15! Click through the images (all property of the brands mentioned) to buy.

Lazy Oaf is my favourite brand at the moment. They’ve been releasing new products in small loads, so I’ve had three lovely days over about a fortnight seeing new prints and mentally spending all the money I have. It was hard to choose just one piece, but it had to be this shirt.

The retro pigtails pattern provides an alternative way to channel the vintage vibes that are so popular at the moment, and it can be a wardrobe staple all year round. It’s not part of a quick trend, so you know you’ll be getting your money’s worth at £65.

You can wear this baby with almost anything, but this is my Autumn choice:

This Topshop skirt’ll tick off a few key trends for the season all in one go. Lace-up elements, suede, and a mini. What more could you want? The colour really makes it stand out. Clashed with the peach shirt, the look will keep the colour that often disappears in colder months. Add interesting tights to keep cosy.

Topshop are currently championing mod style. The mini will serve you well, and they suggest pairing it with a rollneck, set to be the season’s big trend. All the Autumn outfits I’ve come up with involve a rollneck, which is unfortunate because I don’t actually own one. I’ve been searching for the perfect jumper, and I might have found it at Monki.

£15 is not bad at all for a good jumper. The black and white stripes will work with almost anything- even, say, a turquoise mini skirt! It’s thin enough to tuck in for the ultimate silhouette.

As soon as I hear the phrase ‘tuck in’, I go straight to mom jeans. I thought they were going to be a fad, acting as a break from the incessant wave of skinny jeans coming from all directions, but it looks like they’re here to stay. Hooray! For a really unique pair of mom jeans, look no further than The Ragged Priest. Their AW15 collection resurrects their mechanic mom jean, which I love, but what really caught my eye were the tigers..

Nothing is more sassy than tigers on your bum. Although, nothing is less sassy than actual real angry tigers on your bum, so it all balances out. The patches add colour to your monochrome stripe outfit without detracting from the jumper. Perfect!

In the typical British manner, I’m always prepared to add extra layers in Autumn. I wanted to do something a bit different with the Monki jumper, so what about layering it under something? A Cheap Monday dress, perhaps?

This denim dress is new in, and I’m so relieved the denim on denim love affair I’ve been having all summer doesn’t have to end. Pop the jumper underneath and unbutton the dress halfway down for unique layering. Cheap Monday is ironically expensive but pieces will last a long time, and they’re very wearable. It’s an investment piece! At least that’s how I’m justifying it.. For a more affordable jumper-under-dress solution, Monki currently has many ideas in their new in section.

As a final addition to the rollneck, it looks like culottes aren’t leaving with the sun. Team a pattern with a pattern with this new H&M pair.

There’s still time to snag yourself a pair of culottes. Red, black and white is a timeless combination, and it won’t look like a leftover from Summer. Swap out summer sandals for heeled ankle boots to really drill in the change.

More and more clothes keep flooding in for Autumn, so keep an eye out for fabulous new trends. Why not comment below to tell me what you’ll be sure to buy for the season?
